My thoughts on the project
I chose my project because I love to do service, but I usually like to do it secretly. For a youth activity, my older sister put funny and nice notes on cars in parking lot, and I thought that that would be a great thing to do make someone smile. I had several other secret service ideas, like giving people in my neighborhood flowers or chocolates, but I decided that this one would be the best. When I saw people smiling after they got their rewards for being awesome, I felt very happy that I made someone else’s day better. I understood that anyone can do anything to make a difference, even a small difference, anywhere. It doesn’t have to be big as long as it’s kind. One of the obstacles that I faced was that my mom and I forgot to grab tape for the notes before we left the house. We bought some tape at Walmart though, and everything was fine, even though we spent an extra dollar. Giving someone some candy and a kind note can really cheer them up, especially if they’re feeling sad or lonely. I didn’t know the stories of any of the people that I gave a note to, but I know that it helped them, and that is kindness. My project made a difference in someone’s life because it made them happy, and that is what matters. |
"What wisdom can you find that is greater than kindness?"
